Semi-Local CDL-A Truck Driver | Reno, NV

Home 2 days each week | Average $89,000/year | Dedicated freight

Operating Area: CA, NV, UT, WY, MT, and ID Call am to 6pm daily
Primary Area: 70% of deliveries are in Northern California (north of Visalia up to the Oregon border)

Schedule

  • Work Days: 5 days on, 2 days off

    • Days off will be Friday–Saturday or Saturday–Sunday (set by dispatch)

  • Start Time: Between 10 PM – 2 AM

  • Average Shift: 10–12 hours

  • Layovers: 3–4 nights per week (average)

  • Holidays: Work required except Thanksgiving and Christmas

Pay & Bonuses

  • Base pay: $18 per hour

  • Mileage pay: $0.68–$0.72 per mile (annual increases of $0.01 until capped at $0.72)

  • Stop pay: $38 per stop

  • Outsource pay: $100–$325 per day (when assigned to other accounts)

  • Holiday pay: $200 per day

  • Safety/Training pay: $20 per hour

  • New hire training: $250 per day
    Average annual pay: $89,000

Job Details

  • Deliver pet supplies in pre-loaded 53' dry van trailers from Reno, NV to stores across the western U.S.

  • Offload pallets using an electric pallet jack (some stores use lift gates)

  • Pick up backhauls as needed to return to Reno

  • Must cross Donner Pass regularly

  • Must install tire chains during winter weather (may be required up to 5 times per week in winter)

  • May be temporarily assigned ("outsourced") to other accounts weekly

Equipment

  • Truck: Assigned automatic sleeper truck (single bunk)

  • Take-home policy: Truck can be taken home if you live within 50 miles of Reno, NV

  • Trailer: 53' box trailer

  • No drop/hook pay
