Job Description

Our large multi-specialty surgical group is seeking an experienced X-Ray Technician, for its Wayne, NJ office either part-time, full-time, or per diem. The group is a prestigious clinician-led practice, that performs to the highest standards and maintains compliance with its imaging technology. This outpatient setting has a clean, spacious x-ray room in which patients can have images of their spine conveniently taken either pre-surgically or post-surgically.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Verify patients' identity and review Physicians' orders before beginning x-ray procedures.
  • Use of Novarad x-ray equipment for radiographic images of mainly the neck and spine.
  • Explain x-ray procedures to patients and answering any questions.
  • Limit patients' exposure to radiation by placing lead shields on patients where needed.
  • Ensure the highest quality of images to prevent repeat procedures.
  • Ensure the x-ray equipment is regularly serviced and is in good working order.
  • Trouble shoot any xray IT aspects with Novarad Representative.
  • Notify management of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.
  • Maintain an accurate record of completed x-ray procedures.
  • Maintain the library of imaging discs and verify they are virtually uploaded.
  • Burn copies of images onto discs for patients and providers.

Requirements:

  • Professional and collegial demeanor.
  • Knowledge of radiologic equipment utilization safety standards, requirements, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of proper techniques to comply with infection control guidelines and regulations.
  • Ability to perform responsibilities accurately and thoroughly.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient use of electronic medical records system to obtain patient demographics and scheduling.
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations pertaining to the protection of patient health information.
  • Ability to adapt to changing workflow and work responsibilities.
  • Comfortable working efficiently.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Current Certification in Radiography
  • Experience imaging the spine preferred

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $34.00 per hour
