We are seeking a senior level experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this role you will work with a cross functional team to improve yields on existing products, drive lower costs processes, and meet established launch metrics on new products.

Plan, design and execute equipment rebuilds:

  • Work with senior management to identify industry best practices for manufacturing equipment.
  • Select equipment based on critical business needs; Cost of capital, expected product volumes, production flexibility, and other product specific needs.
  • Work with internal teams to develop mean time between failure and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Work with internal teams to design and upgrade basic manufacturing technology.
  • Work with internal teams to develop robust protocols for tool and die inspection and replacement.
  • Prepare and organize project documentation (manuals, PM's, spare parts, correspondence, drawings, drawing lists, material listings, etc.).

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, maintain and update project estimates and schedules.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of LG Process systems, equipment, construction methods, approaches, and technology.
  • Develop and implement work process improvements to streamline or improve effectiveness and efficiency results of practices and processes.
  • Develop specifications; participate in purchasing processes to negotiate successful contracts or equipment purchases to conform to budget and specification requirements.
  • Lead successful execution of projects
  • Create a "zero injury" work environment by planning safety into all project and post-completion phases.
  • Track project financials and take appropriate action to bring project to completion within approved budget.
  • Report project status accurately, timely, and according to protocol. Close the completed project(s) per LG protocol.
  • Train and guide plant personnel to perform local project execution
  • Expected Travel: 5 – 10%

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering Degree required.
  • 10+ years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in equipment specification, selection, installation, and handover is required.
  • Experience in metal forming industries is highly preferred.
  • A working knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean principles and solid problem-solving skills is required.
  • Ability to successfully work in cross functional teams and effectively communicate across the organization and with vendors
  • Software expertise: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, and MS Project

This role operates in a manufacturing facility where conditions may include exposure to loud noise, fluctuating temperatures (hot or cold), and moving machinery. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. The position involves walking, standing, and occasional lifting of materials.
