Job Description:

The CNC Turret Punch Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC turret punch press machinery to fabricate precision sheet metal parts according to design specifications. This role includes interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate tooling, conducting machine setup, and performing in-process quality inspections. The operator monitors machine performance, troubleshoots minor issues, and performs routine maintenance to ensure consistent and reliable operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform machine setup including program loading, retrieval, tool selection, and loading of raw materials
  • Perform routine maintenance including inspection of tool equipment (punches, dies, forming tools), diagnose inefficiencies, and perform repairs as necessary
  • Proficient in quality checks using precision measurement tools
  • Proficient at interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
  • Maintain production records and inspection reports
  • Work independently while also collaborating with departments and supervisors to meet production goals
  • Being proactive with organization and planning projects ahead to meet production demands, timelines, and efficiency

Position requirements:

  • Minimum 5 Years' Experience
  • Strong blueprint and technical drawing interpretation
  • Material knowledge (i.e. galvanized steel, aluminum, stainless)
  • Proficient in understanding precision measuring tools such as calipers
  • Ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude and problem solving
  • Proficient in mathematics including geometry/ trigonometry
  • Able to lift 50-75 lbs., stand for extended periods, walk, squat, bend, and twist
  • Able to work in extreme heat and cold environments

Preferred but Not Required:

  • Experience editing G and M Codes
  • CAM/CAD software
  • Forklift operational experience
  • Project management
