Currently supporting a Technology & Electronics Manufacturing company on a search for a
Firmware Engineer
to join their team. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing and building reliable embedded software that powers our devices. You'll take part in the full development cycle—from requirements definition and architecture design to implementation, testing, and release.

The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex technical challenges, has hands-on experience with embedded systems, and is fluent in C or C++.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain firmware for embedded systems.
  • Debug, test, and optimize code for performance, stability, and scalability.
  • Work closely with hardware engineers to ensure smooth integration between hardware and software components.
  • Evaluate and integrate third-party or open-source software when appropriate.
  • Create and execute test and validation procedures to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Produce detailed technical documentation for designs and code.
  • Investigate and resolve firmware issues across the full system lifecycle.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within scope.
  • Keep up with new tools, technologies, and best practices in embedded and firmware development.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in firmware or embedded software development.
  • Strong proficiency in
    C/C++
    programming.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded systems and debugging tools.
  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Knowledge of microcontrollers and microprocessors (e.g., ARM Cortex, Atmel AVR).
  • Understanding of wireless communication technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, or LoRaWAN.
  • Experience using version control, issue tracking, and code review tools.
  • Solid analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience working with wireless microcontroller platforms such as
    TI SimpleLink

    Digi XBee
    , or
    Infineon AIROC
    .
  • Familiarity with IoT development and cloud connectivity.
  • Working knowledge of
    MQTT
    or other IoT communication protocols.
