Accounting Specialist

SUMMARY: The Accounting Specialist will support the Payroll Manager and the Accounting Department with processing payroll transactions, entering invoices, and verifying cash and credit card deposits to receipts. Other duties may be assigned including posting bank transactions, fixed asset tracking, posting general ledger journal entries, data entry, importing and exporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Accurately keys all payroll related data necessary to process and meet schedules.
- Assist the Payroll Manager with payroll processing as directed.
- Check payroll information for accuracy and ensure all relevant paperwork is in order
- Coordinate with HR about changes in payroll (e.g., terminations, new hires, benefits elections)
- Oversee electronic payments and distribution of payroll direct deposits/checks
- Answer employee questions or concerns regarding pay, deductions, etc.
- Assists Accounts Payable Department with entering invoices and processing Company credit cards.
- Assists Senior Accountants with cash management and daily information for all properties.
- All other duties as assigned.

- Excellent phone, computer, and customer service skills required.
- Ability to work in a team and perform well independently, meeting position requirements without constant supervision.
- Must display a high level of professionalism and customer service.
- Proficient in all MS Office applications including, but not limited to Word and Excel.
- Able to perform light office duty maneuvering including moving small stacks of materials and computer reports (less than 20 pounds) and organizing/filing paperwork at floor, desk and overhead levels.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Associates Degree in Accounting preferred.
- Must have 1 to 3 years' experience in payroll processing and accounts payable.
