Position Overview

We are currently seeking experienced and licensed Pharmacy Technicians to join our team in the following roles:

• Data Entry / Patient & Physician Liaison
• Insurance Billing / Prior Authorization Adjudicator
• Pharmacy Automation Technician

You will play a key role in ensuring operational efficiency, patient satisfaction, and medication safety within our long-term care pharmacy setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a customer service liaison with patients, prescribers, and healthcare providers
• Perform accurate and timely data entry of prescriptions and patient information
• Review and process insurance claims and prior authorization requests
• Research and resolve benefit and formulary issues
• Operate pharmacy automation equipment and dispensing systems
• Support pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications
• Manage inbound and outbound phone communications professionally
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation in pharmacy systems
• Perform other duties as assigned by pharmacy leadership

Qualifications

• Required:

• Current Texas Pharmacy Technician License or National Certification (CPhT)

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician
• High school diploma or GED (or 10 years equivalent work experience)
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Basic PC proficiency (MS Word, Excel)

• Preferred:

• Experience with IPS Elite pharmacy software

• Knowledge of long-term care pharmacy operations
• Previous experience with automated dispensing systems
• Prior work in insurance adjudication and prior authorization processing

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Frequent speaking and listening via headset or hand held phone
• Long periods of sitting and computer use
• Handling prescriptions and working with dispensing machinery
• Moderate noise environment (talking, printers, floor activity)
