About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on Fermentation Supervisor to lead day-to-day fermentation and production operations at Cultures for Health. This role manages floor operations, upholds quality and safety standards, and drives continuous improvement in throughput and yield. The ideal candidate combines technical understanding of fermentation with practical leadership — someone who can guide a team and keep production running efficiently and consistently
Responsibilities
Daily Production Leadership
- Lead and coordinate all fermentation and processing activities to meet daily production goals.
- Maintain adherence to fermentation schedules, feed cycles, and QC checks.
- Oversee setup, staging, and task management of fermentation and assembly
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with food safety standards at all times.
Team Supervision & Training
- Supervise and train production staff on fermentation processes, safety, and documentation.
- Cross-train team members to ensure coverage for all key processes.
- Foster a positive, accountable culture centered on teamwork and continuous improvement.
Quality & Compliance
- Perform daily quality control and recordkeeping for ferments.
- Identify and address deviations, maintaining product consistency and yield.
- Support and maintain compliance with ODA, GMP, and internal SOP standards.
Process Improvement
- Document and refine SOPs as changes to processes occur.
- Identify opportunities to increase throughput and reduce waste.
- Work cross-functionally with operations and supply chain to improve production flow.
What Success Looks Like
- Consistent output — daily fermentation and assembly goals
- High quality standards maintained with minimal rework or holds.
- Accurate documentation of all fermentation and QC records.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in fermentation, food production, or a related process environment.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Understanding of fermentation principles (microbial activity, timing, feed ratios).
- Knowledge of food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, FDA preferred).
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with shifting priorities.
- Clear communicator and team motivator.
- Adaptability and calm under pressure — thrives in an evolving environment.

- Location: Kent, OH (on-site, full-time)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
