Hello Thank you for your interest in joining the Wellspring team as an Life Enrichment Aide. As a statewide nonprofit serving seniors, families and children in need of support, we take a whole-person approach to our organization and delivery of our services — because we believe we must find the strengths in people and build on these for lasting change to occur.
When you join our team as a Life Enrichment Aide, you'll be part of a team of nurses, caregivers and other administrative professionals who are committed to supporting our staff in their work of serving seniors and their families at the Senior Living Campus in Saginaw. In this position, you will bring a High School Diploma or GED equivalent (preferred). Prior senior living or skilled nursing activities experience is helpful but not required. You will bring a positive attitude, experience working in a fast-paced environment, willingness to lead activity events and a passion to serve and work within the senior living community.
As a Life Enrichment Aide, you will:
- Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activity programs of this facility
- Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement so that facility activities and resident progress are evaluated, by noting, reporting and charting resident behavior
- Participate in community planning related to the interests of the facility and the services and needs of the resident and family
- Participate in discharge planning; development and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments
- Involve the resident/family in planning activity programs when possible
- Involve the resident/family in planning objectives and goals for the resident
- Refer resident/families to appropriate Social Service personnel when necessary
- Coordinate activities with other departments as necessary
- Keep abreast of economic conditions/situations and recommend to the Life Enrichment Director adjustments in activity programs that assure the continued ability to provide daily activities
- Ensure that all charted activity notes are informative and descriptive of the services provided and indicate the resident's response to the service
- Arrange transportation for campus wide events and field trips when necessary
- Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, reports and submitting such to the Life Enrichment Director as required
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with other departments within the facility to assure that daily activities can be performed without interruption
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive
emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility
