JOB SUMMARY
Provide leadership direction to the team that is clear, concise and promotes efficiency throughout the clinical areas of the facility.
To provide safe, effective professional nursing care for patients in the operating room as well as post operative care.
Other duties may be assigned by the immediate manager/supervisor and/or Administrator.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
Current licensure by the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse
Experience
Surgical Pre and Post Op Experience Leadership required.
Previous work in which progressive leadership, administrative and clinical competencies have been demonstrated, preferably with a minimum two years in the operating room. Current certification in ACLS.
Willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed within the ASC.
2 years of OR experience required.
PreOp/PACU experience required.
ASC experience preferred.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to move upper extremities within full range of motion as well as stoop and bend at 90 degrees. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this job.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The exposure risk to bloodborne pathogens is great.
MONDAY - FRIDAY NO CALL NO WEEKENDS NO HOLIDAYS
630am - 300pm
BASIC JOB PURPOSE:
To plan and deliver safe, effective preoperative and postoperative nursing care until patient is dismissed from the facility.
Language Skills:
Speaking voice that has good quality and tone; speech that is understandable.
STANDARDS OF PRE-OPERATIVE CARE:
Initiates physical and psychological patient assessment and initiates preoperative patient care plan.
