We are seeking skilled and innovative Data Scientists to contribute to the development and optimization of advanced AI, Machine Learning (ML), and Generative AI (GenAI) models within BDS. This role offers the opportunity to learn and grow your skills in ML and large language models (LLMs). You will work closely with senior data scientists and cross-functional teams to contribute to AI-driven applications in our organization.
Successful candidates will have:
Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
Interest in AI ethics and governance in generative models.
Exposure to data engineering tools (e.g., SQL, Spark)

Position Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and deployment of models.
Support the design and implementation of pipelines for model fine-tuning and evaluation.
Help in developing prompt engineering strategies and embedding techniques.
Contribute to the prototyping of applications that address business challenges.
Participate in model performance evaluation and assist in bias/fairness assessments.
Collaborate with engineering teams to support model inference and monitoring.
Stay updated on AI/ML/GenAI trends and tools, and share insights with the team.
Engage in learning opportunities and mentorship from senior data scientists.
This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Physics or a closely related field.
1+ year of experience in data science or machine learning.
1+ year of experience in programming in Python and familiarity with data engineering workflows (e.g., Spark, Airflow, SQL).
Familiarity with platform infrastructure experience: Kubernetes, containerization, Infrastructure as Code capabilities
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Physics or a closely related field
Experience fine-tuning open-source models and integrating APIs from commercial providers.
Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
Experience in AI ethics and governance in generative models.
Experience with data engineering tools (e.g., SQL, Spark)
