Job Summary
WebstaurantStore is looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer (mid to senior level) to join our ERP development team and play a key role in building out our automation framework. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the foundation of our testing strategy and help ensure the quality of the systems that drive our business.

Our ERP software engineering team develops and enhances the systems that power critical operations across the company, including procurement, inventory control, logistics, sales order processing, accounts receivable/payable, and financial processes.

We work primarily with the Microsoft .NET stack, using C# as our main programming language. The teams development scope includes desktop applications, web services, queued services, front-end web interfaces, and mobile applications.

Remote Work Qualifications

  • Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least mbps download/mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day tasks.
  • Access to a home router and modem.
  • A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).
  • A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment.
  • The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.
  • Legal residents of one of the following states: (AK, AL, AR, AZ, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV, and WY).

We only accept W-2 candidates, H-1B sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities
As a Quality Automation Engineer, you will:

  • Contribute to the design and development of the test automation framework and supporting infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain automation frameworks and test suites for desktop and mobile applications.
  • Tackle the challenge of migrating desktop applications to web-based platforms
  • Partner with the QA team to continuously improve automation through bug fixes, enhancements, and new feature requests.
  • Collaborate with QA leadership on automation strategy, planning, and best practices.
  • Work closely with Developers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners to support project success.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback on code quality and standards.
  • Stay current with modern testing methodologies, tools, and techniques, and proactively apply them.
  • Develop, optimize, and scale CI/CD automation pipelines.
  • Estimate the effort required for testing tasks and deliverables.
  • Create, maintain, and update QA documentation to support team processes and knowledge sharing.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to lbs.

Qualifications
Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality assurance or test automation.
  • Strong proficiency in C# with hands-on experience using testing frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest.
  • Advanced SQL skills, with the ability to write complex queries and validate data integrity.
  • Proven experience designing and maintaining automated tests for APIs (REST, SOAP, RestSharp, Postman, Swagger) and Web UIs (Selenium, Playwright, or similar).
  • Ability to break down complex business processes into smaller, testable components while maintaining end-to-end test coverage.
  • Skilled in developing comprehensive test plans that cover functional, regression, and integration testing.
  • Strong leadership abilities, including mentoring junior and mid-level testers, reviewing test code, and collaborating effectively with developers, product owners, and business analysts.

Experience With Any Of The Following Is a Plus

  • Messaging systems RabbitMQ)
  • Performance/load testing tools JMeter)
  • CI/CD pipeline integration (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
