Overview:

A significant global investment firm is seeking a Python Software Developer to join its New York based Equities Technology team where you'll be instrumental in building and supporting a real-time trading platform. This role involves direct collaboration with quant researchers and portfolio managers in a fast-paced environment, requiring a hands-on approach to engineering complex, high-performance systems from the ground up.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, develop, and enhance the firm's core trading platform, including systems for order management, market data processing, and execution.
  • Design and manage data engineering pipelines for both real-time and historical analytics, ensuring data integrity and performance.
  • Provide live, business-critical support for the trading desk, troubleshooting and resolving system issues in a high-pressure environment.
  • Collaborate directly with stakeholders, including quants and traders, to gather requirements and deliver bespoke software solutions.
  • Implement and oversee DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure management to ensure system reliability.
  • Develop sophisticated tools for trade analytics, risk management, and performance monitoring.

Experience:

  • 3-10+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong emphasis on Python.
  • Proven experience in a financial environment, preferably with exposure to equities, derivatives, or Delta1 products.
  • Expertise in data engineering, including building ETL pipelines and working with large-scale datasets and database technologies.
  • Proficiency with DevOps tools and methodologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD).
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex technical challenges.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another quantitative field is preferred.
