About the Opportunity

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing complex accounting tasks of the assigned business, ensuring accurate financial reporting, including project accounting and supporting the overall financial health of the business.

Job Duties

• Oversee the financial health of projects by maintaining accurate and timely reporting of costs, budgets, and forecasts.
• Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations related to project accounting.
• Monitor and track job costs, including labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses.
• Collaborate with project managers to review financial performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and accounting standards.
• Assist in accounts receivable and payable functions, especially related to project accounting.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Work closely with the finance and operations teams to streamline accounting processes and improve financial reporting.
• Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in commercial / industrial services.
• Demonstrated understanding and experience in AIA billing practices.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation

• This is a salaried position - $85k-$95k
• Quarterly bonus opportunities
