Responsibilities:

- Provide direct patient care, performing treatments, and monitoring vital signs

- Assist with diagnostic procedures performed at our office.

  • sent referrals to other providers

-Pre-chart patients for physicians and NP. Confirm diagnostics test are on patient chart for physicians review.

  • send prescriptions to proper pharmacy per physician request

  • schedule diagnostic tests at hospital or outpatient center and obtain authorization.

-Return phone calls to patients, nursing facilities, home health, etc.

- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans

- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health record systems (EPIC)

  • Update patients medications, medical history, surgical history.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and sterile processing techniques
  • Provide wound care, including staple removal and dressing changes
  • Support patients with behavioral health needs by providing emotional support and implementing appropriate interventions

Skills:

- Medical assistant degree or 2 years of medical experience as medical assistant

  • Ability to hold pressure properly as necessary after procedures

  • Ability to start an IV would be preferred

  • EMT Certification

  • Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and standards of care

  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems

  • Ability to perform sterile processing techniques and handle medical instruments safely
