What You'll Do:

As a Managing Director, you will play a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our clients. You will help mature our service delivery processes, oversee client engagements, collaborate with and mentor SecureIT team leads, manage strategic client relationships, and contribute to the company's overall strategy and growth. You will ensure client success across our three core service lines: Compliance Advisory, Assessment & Audit, and Cyber Services. This role combines hands-on execution, strategic vision, and empathetic leadership to build a high-performing delivery organization. The ideal candidate has domain expertise along with a strong track record in consulting, service delivery leadership, and client relationship management, and a proven ability to lead teams, expand market share, and help drive revenue growth.

Responsibilities and Tasking Include:

Delivery Planning & Execution:

  • Working with Team Leads to develop a repeatable model for effectively, efficiently, and profitably delivering our core services.
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring operational systems and processes to provide visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles.
  • Overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure seamless execution of projects and services and the delivery of quality results to clients.
  • Refining key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track operational performance. Identifying areas for process improvement and implementing solutions to streamline operations.
  • Coordinating and scheduling all operational activities, ensuring resources are effectively allocated across the project portfolio.
  • Anticipating and avoiding bench time and working with Team Leads to ensure that downtime is effectively utilized for process improvements and learning.
  • Tracking key projects and engaging regularly with client executive management to ensure mutual success.
  • Identifying recurring challenges on projects (e.g., client delays) and developing techniques for proactively managing them.
  • Collaborating with Team Leads and SMEs to develop and document best practices, playbooks, and workflows to standardize service execution and optimize our delivery practices (e.g., use of automation, AI, etc.).

Organizational Growth & Team Leadership:

  • Identifying knowledge/capability gaps and critical dependencies and devising solutions for addressing them (grow internal resources, hire new talent, engage partners/subs).
  • Performing multi-year resource planning to enable achievement of business objectives.
  • Collaborating with Recruiting and HR to develop strategic goals for recruiting, retention, performance management, and employee development.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of directors, managers, consultants, and associates within the service delivery organization.
  • Providing training and mentorship to team members on project management and service delivery best practices.
  • Fostering a high-performance culture with a focus on collaboration, innovation, and professional development.

Business Development & Client Relationship Management:

  • Identifying market trends, competitive opportunities, and potential risks to ensure the company's continued success and growth.
  • Building strong relationships with C-suite executives, key stakeholders, and decision-makers in client organizations.
  • Driving initiatives to enhance the client experience and meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Assisting Team Leads and SMEs in account management and identifying opportunities for expanding footprint with existing clients.
  • Maintaining a deep understanding of market trends and developments to provide clients with an accurate view of the landscape and advise the broader leadership team.
  • Enhancing brand visibility through professional writing (blogs, articles) and public speaking at events.
  • Leveraging relationships to proactively identify new client/project opportunities.
  • Collaborating with internal and external partners to co-develop new solutions, services, or technology-driven innovation.

Financial Management:

  • Working closely with Team Leads to develop and manage budgets, ensuring financial goals are met.
  • Overseeing the financial health of the delivery organization, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Leveraging financial insights to drive strategic decision-making, ensuring that the firm scales efficiently while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Monitoring financial performance, analyzing variances, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Leveraging data to identify trends, measure effectiveness, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Ensuring leadership has real-time visibility into critical metrics and operational challenges.

What You'll Bring to the Table:

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience leading delivery teams and scaling dynamic and fast-paced professional services practices.
  • Experience across multiple operational domains, including portfolio/project management, service delivery, strategic planning, and organizational growth and development.
  • Strong subject-matter knowledge of cyber and compliance standards, tools, and practices.
  • Experience delivering a broad suite of cybersecurity and compliance services to private and public sector clients with regulated workloads.

Business Savvy:

  • Ability to pivot strategies when needed and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
  • Willingness to take calculated risks and learn from both successes and failures.
  • Sound judgment-knowing when to escalate, when to absorb risk, and when to say no to clients to protect both delivery quality and team morale.
  • Strong understanding of P&L concepts, billing models, utilization rates, and portfolio-level profitability in order to balance client needs against internal financial goals.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across multiple projects.
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements across project delivery workflows.
  • Ability to recognize client trends, business opportunities, and competitive landscape to shape portfolio decisions.
  • Ability to assess project requirements, align initiatives with firm strategy, and make decisions on how to optimize the allocation of limited resources.
  • Ability to build diverse and effective delivery teams across all service lines.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities to navigate competing priorities and navigate politically challenging situations.

Certifications & Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience). Advanced degree a plus.
