Job Title: Spotfire Developer – Life Sciences

Location: Spring House, PA (Hybrid, 2–3 days onsite) – secondary location La Jolla, CA

Contract Duration: 12 months (Potential Extension)

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new Spotfire dashboards from concept to deployment, including visualization design, data modeling, and backend logic.
  • Integrate Spotfire with databases such as Snowflake, Postgres, and Oracle, optimizing queries and establishing data connections.
  • Write and implement IronPython scripts, custom expressions, and information links to support advanced dashboard functionality.
  • Conduct data preparation, curation, and transformation to ensure datasets are ready for visualization.
  • Partner with scientists and R&D stakeholders to gather requirements, understand workflows, and iterate dashboard designs.
  • Work onsite to observe lab processes, ensuring dashboards reflect scientific context.
  • Document requirements, logic, changes, and technical decisions clearly.
  • Support broader data engineering or data preparation tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of experience as a Spotfire Developer or similar analytics/visualization role.
  • Expertise in TIBCO Spotfire, including dashboard development, IronPython scripting, custom expressions, and information links.
  • Proficient in SQL and data modeling for analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, including IronPython within Spotfire.
  • Experience with Snowflake (preferred), Postgres, Oracle, or similar relational databases.
  • Life sciences industry experience, with the ability to interpret scientific/assay data.
  • Strong communication skills, able to work directly with scientists in a hybrid/on-site environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large molecule/biologics datasets (antibody or sequence data).
  • Experience supporting wet-lab or R&D teams in biotech/pharma.
  • Familiarity with data engineering or data transformation workflows.
  • Ability to present dashboards to senior scientific leadership and incorporate feedback effectively.
