Lead Structural Design Engineer

Overview:

The Lead Structural Design Engineer will lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing advanced technical expertise across offshore and subsea projects. This role combines hands-on engineering design with practical offshore execution support to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage design engineers in delivering offshore project and tendering work scopes on time and within budget.
  • Review project scopes, allocate work, and monitor technical quality and performance.
  • Perform advanced structural, rigging, hydrodynamic, and installation design and analysis for offshore operations.
  • Develop and maintain hydrodynamic models, lifting analyses, seafastening designs, and installation methodologies.
  • Liaise with project managers, vessel teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure technical alignment and safe offshore execution.
  • Support mobilizations, FATs, offshore construction, and decommissioning activities as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with offshore engineering standards, safety requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to technical presentations, design reviews, risk assessments, and lessons-learned documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Structural preferred).
  • Professional accreditation (PE/Chartered Engineer) or eligibility preferred.
  • 10+ years of offshore/subsea structural design experience
    , including project execution support from concept through offshore installation.
  • Proven experience interfacing with offshore construction vessels, lift operations, and installation aids.
  • Strong knowledge of offshore engineering standards (ABS, API, DNV, AISC, IMCA, etc.).
  • Proficiency in software such as CAD, Inventor, ANSYS, Orcaflex, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • High commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
