Teledata Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead a crew the installation, termination, and testing of structured cabling systems consisting of copper and fiber, but not limited to troubleshooting, repairing, and testing existing structured cable infrastructures.
• Ensure that all duties of this position are carried out in compliance with Alterman's stated mission, values, safety standards, and policies.
• Assume additional tasks that are assigned by the Project Manager, or those tasks which are logically inherent to this position.
• Communicate effectively with project team or stakeholders to ensure expectations are met and assigned duties are completed.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the structured cabling/ICT industry.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must have very good knowledge of structured cabling topologies and support infrastructure installation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
• BICSI certification or equivalent is preferred (not required). Structured cabling manufacturer certification is a plus.
• Experience managing crews and materials for all assigned installations.
• Must be self-driven, motivated, and be able to work independently.
• Must consent to a pre-employment background and drug screen.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift 15 to 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, pull, and handle products with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods with or without a reasonable accommodation.
