Technical Project Manager
Sunnyvale, CA (HYBRID)
The Project Manager (PM) will drive initiatives that enhance financial transparency, cost optimization, and operational efficiency across cloud and data platforms. This role partners closely with engineering, finance, and analytics teams to deliver cross-functional programs that integrate financial data, modernize reporting environments, and improve cloud cost governance.
The PM should combine strong technical fluency with financial operations (FinOps) awareness, enabling effective oversight of data-driven initiatives that bridge finance and technology.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage Financial data and cloud optimization programs end-to-end, ensuring scope, schedule, and quality targets are met.
Drive modernization of BigQuery, Snowflake, and related data environments to improve spend visibility and reporting accuracy.
Translate strategic objectives into actionable project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
Manage interdependencies across engineering, analytics, and finance workstreams.
Financial & Technical Governance
Support implementation of FinOps frameworks to improve cloud spend forecasting, budgeting, and accountability.
Establish data governance and operational processes for cost tracking and reporting systems.
Partner with finance and operations to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and cost models.
Stakeholder Communication
Develop and maintain executive-ready communications, status reports, and dashboards on project health and financial impact.
Facilitate collaboration between engineering teams and finance stakeholders, ensuring clear alignment of priorities.
Serve as the escalation point for cross-functional issues, managing resolution and decision-making.
Risk, Quality & Delivery Management
Identify and mitigate delivery, technical, and financial risks.
Ensure compliance with enterprise data, privacy, and financial reporting standards.
Maintain high-quality documentation and change management practices across all project phases.
Required Skills & Experience
8 to 12 years of project or program management experience supporting data, analytics, or financial systems.
Strong understanding of cloud services (AWS, GCP), including BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Compute, and cost monitoring tools.
Familiarity with Python, SQL, Terraform, and data infrastructure automation concepts.
Proven track record managing technical teams and delivering data-centric, financially driven projects.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with executive-level reporting experience.
PMP, Scrum Master, or Agile certification preferred.
Experience with FinOps or cloud cost management frameworks is highly desirable.
