Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States HANKS Full time

We are seeking a dependable, calm, and experienced part-time nanny to provide evening childcare support for our family.

This role is especially important on Friday evenings, when the parent has had a full day of therapy and does not have daytime caregiver support. The nanny's primary responsibility will be helping the children transition calmly into the evening routine after school and therapy.

At this time, care is for two children (ages 9 and 6). In approximately six months, additional children will return to the home, and the role may expand with advance notice and discussion.

This position is child-focused only. The parent has a separate caregiver for medical and mobility needs

Children Currently in the Home

  • 9-year-old — school-aged, fairly independent
  • 6-year-old — mild autism, attends an ABA center, benefits from routine and gentle guidance

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide calm, attentive, and age-appropriate care during evening hours
  • Support smooth transitions from school/therapy to home
  • Prepare or serve simple dinners/snacks for the children
  • Engage children in low-stimulation, structured activities
  • Assist with evening routines (homework support, play, wind-down time)
  • Maintain a predictable and peaceful environment
  • Light cleanup related to children only (dishes used, toys, tidying common areas)
  • Communicate clearly with the parent about how the evening went.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience as a nanny, babysitter, or childcare provider
  • Comfortable supporting neurodiverse children
  • Calm, patient, and emotionally regulated
  • Reliable and punctual, especially on Fridays
  • Able to work independently and follow established routines
  • Comfortable working in a household where the parent has medical needs (no medical care required)

Qualifications

  • Previous childcare experience required
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Clean background check and references

Important Notes

  • This is a part-time evening position
  • Friday evenings are essential; additional evenings are flexible
  • This is not a housekeeping or caregiver-for-parent role
  • Duties are focused on the children and evening transition support

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $22.55 per hour

Work Location: In person
