Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Technician with strong experience in hardware testing, firmware/OS flashing, and system setup in an R&D or lab environment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience assembling hardware systems, troubleshooting boot/connectivity issues, and executing manual/automated test procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hardware testing on systems, components, and electronic assemblies.
  • Execute firmware and OS flashing, system imaging, and configuration tasks.
  • Assemble, install, deploy, and maintain test benches, racks, and lab equipment.
  • Troubleshoot system boot issues, connectivity problems, and general hardware/software failures.
  • Set up test equipment to perform complex electrical, mechanical, and functional testing.
  • Work with Linux-based systems for installation, setup, and debugging.
  • Document test results, modifications, issues, KPIs, and maintain accurate malfunction records.
  • Support purchasing, shipping/receiving, inventory tracking, and equipment management for test labs.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to perform rework, repairs, and hardware updates.
  • Follow SOPs, test plans, and provide input on improving processes and test methods.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Must have: Hardware testing experience in a lab or R&D environment.
  • Must have: Hands-on experience with firmware flashing and OS flashing.
  • 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Technician, Hardware Technician, Electronics Technician, or similar role.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for electrical and system-level issues.
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of electronics, circuits, and components.
  • Experience with Linux OS, networking basics, and test equipment setup.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions, test procedures, and documentation guidelines.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 30 lbs as required.
  • Ability to work at test benches, racks, or lab environments.

Pay: $ $40.62 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
