Warehouse Inventory Specialist

As a Warehouse Inventory Specialist at Metro Park Warehouses, your primary responsibility will be to manage and maintain accurate records of inventory within the warehouse environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the company's inventory levels are optimized, and that products are readily available for distribution and sale. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work effectively in a team will be essential for success in this role.

Pay: $20-$23 per hour (based on experience)

Shift: Monday- Friday, 8am-4:30pm *Flexibility regarding overtime is essential as it may be required to fulfill job responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.

• Organize and arrange inventory items in a systematic manner for easy access and retrieval.

• Maintain accurate inventory records using digital inventory management systems or spreadsheets.

• Regularly update inventory levels to reflect stock movement, including receipts, transfers, and shipments.

• Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.

• Forecast inventory needs based on historical data and current trends.

• Collaborate with procurement and purchasing teams to ensure timely reordering of products.

• Initiate stock rotation and ensure that products with earlier expiration dates are utilized first (if applicable).

• Generate regular inventory reports for management review, highlighting trends and discrepancies.

• Analyze inventory data to identify slow-moving or obsolete items, proposing appropriate actions.

• Conduct routine physical inventory counts to reconcile with digital records.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system data.

• Ensure compliance with quality standards and report any damaged or defective items.

• Coordinate with various departments, such as shipping, receiving, sales, and customer service, to address inventory-related inquiries and needs.

• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure a smooth flow of inventory operations.

• Identify opportunities to streamline inventory management processes and suggest improvements.

• Participate in process enhancement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

• Handle hazardous materials and equipment following proper procedures and regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Proficiency in operating both forklifts and scissor lifts is a mandatory requirement for this position.

• Proven experience in warehouse operations and inventory management.

• Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.

• Physical stamina to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

• Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in a warehouse setting.
