Legal Counsel – Contracts and Compliance
to join their team on a
full-time, hybrid basis
in
Houston, TX
. The Legal Counsel – Contracts and Compliance will support the company's commercial and operational functions by drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a wide range of contracts and compliance matters. This role requires strong commercial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice in a dynamic, global environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and analyze various agreements, including Master Service Agreements, sales contracts, supplier agreements, NDAs, and other contracts related to oilfield services operations.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with global operations, particularly in areas such as bids/tenders, contract performance, liability, and compliance.
  • Maintain and improve contract management processes, ensuring adherence to company policies and best practices.
  • Stay current with legislative developments affecting the company's operations; provide updates, training, and policy recommendations as needed.
  • Conduct legal and compliance training for internal teams to promote awareness of contractual and compliance obligations.
  • Handle compliance investigations involving reports submitted through EthicsPoint or similar channels.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (finance, sales, supply chain, HR) to ensure legal compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Provide specialized legal counsel on contract interpretation, HR, and compliance matters.
  • Manage claims and litigation with assistance from outside counsel.
  • Leverage digital tools to streamline legal processes and enhance compliance efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. degree and active bar membership (in good standing).
  • 5+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably within the oilfield services or energy industry.
  • Strong background in commercial contracts, corporate compliance, and risk management.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to provide clear, practical, and business-focused legal advice.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
