With properties in stunning locations such as Maine's Acadia National Park, the Southern Maine Beaches, and New Hampshire's White Mountains, Lafayette Hotels offers a perfect blend of work and adventure.

Job Summary

The Corporate Facilities Director and Project Manager is responsible for keeping our buildings in top condition, overseeing major construction projects across the company and working directly with our GMs and Head of Facilities at each of our locations to improve systems and processes. The best candidate for the job has built buildings, knows building codes and has the organizational, technical and leadership skills to create and implement quality control systems across all of our facilities. If a GM or Head of Facilities can't solve a problem, you'll help them figure it out. How many square feet of asphalt roof do we have under management? We'd like to know.

We have properties as far north at Bar Harbor and as far south as Hampton Beach, NH. We have some flexibility on work location with a preference for a home base in the Greater Portland area.

Daily Duties

  • Periodic property Fire, Life, Safety audits and inspections
  • Develop short and long term facility upgrade plans and budgets
  • Work with property GMs and Head of Facilities to implement systems, address issues and fix problems
  • Project planning, budgeting and management - major renovations, major system upgrades, new buildings
  • Bidding out major projects and negotiating best pricing
  • Material cost and purchasing analysis
  • Building and maintaining vendor relationships
  • Projects assigned by management

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Yankee Ingenuity
  • 10 years construction experience - we want to see and hear about the projects you've done
  • Success managing large teams
  • Self Motivated - you get personal satisfaction from overcoming obstacles and accomplishment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong computer and excel skills - budgets, systems, tracking, financial modeling etc. Experience with project management software a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple job sites as needed
  • Willingness to swing a hammer and help out when appropriate
  • Extensive hands-on building experience
  • Knowledge/experience with any/all of the following: electrical, plumbing, construction/carpentry, & HVAC
  • Ability to push or pull 50 pounds and lift and/or carry 50 pounds
