Position Summary: 

The Quality Control Technician ensures the integrity and safety of both raw ingredients and finished goods through rigorous inspection, testing, and documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of quality standards and quality assurance practices in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections of raw materials and finished goods on the production floor
  • Collect and prepare product samples for third-party laboratory testing
  • Monitor and verify critical control points (CCPs) and ensure compliance with HACCP and GMP standards
  • Perform visual checks for foreign material, packaging integrity, labeling accuracy, and allergen control
  • Document inspection results, deviations, and corrective actions in accordance with QC protocols
  • Communicate quality concerns to Quality leadership promptly
  • Support traceability efforts by maintaining sample retention logs and batch records
  • Assist with internal audits, mock recalls, and third-party inspections
  • Provide guidance to employees on inspection procedures and best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for enhancement and suggesting solutions.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear required PPE
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Experience in quality control strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with HACCP and GMP regulations preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across departments
  • Comfortable working in a production environment with exposure to allergens, noise, and temperature variation

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to loud machinery, dust, and food-grade oils may occur.
  • Employees must wear appropriate PPE, such as gloves, hairnets, and ear protection.
  • Production schedules may require overtime, weekend, or holiday shifts.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently required to stand for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift).
  • Regularly lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive tasks, including bending, twisting, and reaching.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production quotas.
