Job Description – Med Day Group Assistant

Progress Unlimited Inc., A MEDICAL DAY PROGRAM PROVIDER located in Owings Mills is seeking a reliable, energetic, creative activity assistant/caregiver to provide supervision, ADL support, guidance, and structured activities to adults with developmental, intellectual, and physical disabilities.

As a Med Day Group Assistant with Progress Unlimited Inc., your main role is to provide ADL's and basic care to the clients; as well as assist them with enjoyable structured activities that may be challenging without assistance. Because of the personal nature of this position, you must possess positive people skills, be compassionate, respectful, courteous and enjoy helping others. As a Med Day Assistant you will also engage in group activities, occasional community outings and prepping for special events and holidays. The Med Day Assistant reports to the Activity Director or the Nurse Manager. You should have phenomenal communication skills since it is your responsibility to bring all concerns and issues to your supervisor.

Duties include but are not limited to:

· Follow daily activity schedule

· Assist with passing out breakfast, lunch trays, snacks and feeding clients

· Load and unload clients safely from the buses

· Assist clients with toileting needs

· Lift clients into and out of wheelchairs, onto changing tables via Hoyer lift

· Document personal care of clients

· Document daily activities

· Report baseline changes to the nurse

· Must be skilled in arts and crafts

· Responsible for creating a clean, safe, and fun area for the clients

· Ability to take directors from Supervisor(s) including the nurses

MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT AND TRANSFER CLIENTS – THIS IS A HEAVY JOB.

Qualifications

· High school or equivalent (Required)

· CPR Certification (Preferred)

· Able to report to work at 8 a

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
