Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) located in Los Angeles, CA, with some work from home flexibility. The CFO will oversee financial planning, manage financial statements, and guide financial strategy to ensure the company's financial health. Daily tasks include preparing financial reports, analyzing financial data, and providing strategic recommendations to the executive team. The CFO will also ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and optimize financial performance through effective financial planning and analysis. This role reports to the CEO & Board.

Responsibilities

  • Proven experience in senior financial leadership, ideally within the transportation or logistics sector.
  • Expertise in financial laws, risk management, and strategic investment planning.
  • Strong analytical skills and a history of using data-driven insights to drive business success.
  • Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Other) and Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate teams and foster collaboration.
  • Superior communication skills, with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization and external partners.
  • Strategic thinker with a keen eye for profitability, liquidity, and long-term company value.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA or CFA are preferred.
  • Industry experience in transportation or logistics is REQUIRED.
  • At least 10 years of experience in financial roles, with 5 years in a financial leadership capacity.
  • Lead the company's financial planning and decision-making processes.
  • Develop and execute investment strategies, focusing on cash flow and liquidity management.
  • Oversee fundraising efforts and manage the capital structure to ensure sustainable growth.
  • Supervise finance personnel, including controllers and treasurers, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver accurate financial forecasts and reports to guide executive decisions.
  • Implement and oversee financial IT systems to support operational efficiency.
  • Ensure full compliance with legal and regulatory financial requirements.
  • Manage all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, and financial reporting
