Resident Engineer

Location:
Basking Ridge, NJ- 3 days a week onsite

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Implementation:

  • Develop product solutions for both public and private MEC environments.
  • Architect designs focusing on redundancy, resource optimization, and integration with OpenShift.
  • Create automated software solutions for MEC configuration deployments, system updates, and monitoring.

Automation and Optimization:

  • Automate processes to ensure efficient configuration, system updates, and proactive monitoring.
  • Implement health monitoring (active and passive) and provide informed troubleshooting recommendations based on system analysis.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Work closely with internal teams to implement robust MEC solutions.
  • Engage in system health monitoring, software update analysis, and provide actionable insights for system improvements.

Documentation:

  • Provide detailed documentation on projects and work performed in the lab
  • Create, update and maintain scripts and configs to an on-prem git repository.
  • Update and maintain IPAM(ie netbox) application with all deployed configurations.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Versatile Problem Solver: Ability to think on the fly, adapt to various technical challenges, and be resourceful across multiple domains.
  • Linux Proficiency: Strong Linux administration and networking skills
  • Cloud and Virtualization: Expertise in cloud technologies and virtualization; familiarity with Red Hat, OpenShift, OpenStack, and Kubernetes. Experience with VMware is a plus.
  • Experience in building and deploying on-prem environments such as kubernetes, docker/container or kvm(ie Proxmox XCP-NG, etc).
  • Networking Knowledge: Understanding of network infrastructures and their optimization. Configuring and troubleshooting Routers and Switches.
  • Data Science & AI: Experience or hands-on exposure to data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence is a plus
