Production Line Equipment Technician

A day in this roleAt the start of your shift, you review the day's schedule and product SOPs, prepare your line, and verify materials. You bring the line up safely, confirm settings, and begin production. Throughout the day you document quality checks using good documentation processes (GDP), keep your area organized with 6S lean practices, and move materials with forklifts, pallet jacks, or barrel handlers. You'll label finished goods and build pallets to standardized patterns, keep warehouse inventory accurate with RF guns and counts, and pivot between lines as needed for changeovers. When the run is complete, you shut the machines down according to SOP, tidy the area, and prepare for the next assignment. Other duties as assigned help the operation run smoothly.
What you'll do- Set up, operate, and shut down production lines end-to-end by following SOPs and the daily production schedule.
- Consistently manufacture to spec while meeting safety, quality, and labor standards.
- Record inspections and process data accurately using GDP; complete all required paperwork.
- Maintain a clean, well-organized workspace using 6S principles.
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and barrel handlers.
- Spot and suggest improvements in safety, efficiency, and ergonomics.
- Support warehouse organization and inventory control with RF guns and counts.
- Adhere to all safety and environmental health requirements, including PPE for all handled materials.
- Label products and palletize to standardized pallet patterns.
- Assist with line changeovers and relocation of production equipment from line to line.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 1st shift: 6:00 AM–6:00 PM (Mon–Wed) and 6:00 AM–11:30 AM (Thu) — $21.00/hour
- 2nd shift: 6:00 PM–6:00 AM (Mon–Wed) and 6:00 PM–11:30 PM (Thu) — $21.50/hour
- Stamina to work 12-hour shifts 3.5 days per week, plus overtime on Thursdays and/or Fridays as needed.
- Reliable, on-time attendance for all scheduled days and shift times.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while collaborating well with the team.
- Clear communication in English (read, write legibly, and speak effectively).
- High school diploma, GED, or applicable experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Preference for candidates with at least six months operating packaging machinery in a food or feed manufacturing facility.
