Support Services Coordinator III - Finance
The Office of the Attorney General has an opening for a Support Services Coordinator III to work in the Finance Division. This is a key role in our General Services Section by providing support to various divisions in the agency. Incumbents oversee a variety of support services for the agency, including telecommunications, motor pool, facility, mail processing, equipment relocation, purchasing, etc.
This is a senior-level job in which incumbents perform a variety of complex and heterogeneous services for an agency, such as budgeting, leases, inventory, personnel, troubleshooting, administering, and maintaining support functions. Incumbents at this level function generally at the division level or institution level. The incumbent coordinates personnel practices and procedures and prepares and processes personnel actions and payroll consistent with regulations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to work independently with little to no supervision, and possess excellent communication skills.
This position is based in Salt Lake City and is a full-time, in-person role. The position is at-will and career service-exempt.
Responsibilities
- Manages accounting or budget activities and provides fiscal information.
- Monitors agency or program budget including revenues, expenditures and budget projection, etc.
- Oversees accuracy of contract tracking system; monitor and improve as needed.
- Develops and/or interprets fiscal statements and reports.
- Generates and monitors work orders, service contracts, etc.
- Coordinates and/or manages support services such as: telecommunications, motor pool, physical security, facility and grounds, mail processing, equipment relocation, warehouse storage, etc.
- Reviews customer billings for accuracy; approves changes or refunds; reviews and approves vendor billings; reviews and approves payables.
- Obtains, documents, and tabulates quotes on items covered by existing contracts.
- Writes, reviews, and/or negotiates grants, contracts and/or agreements.
- Meets and confers with management, users, and contract providers to resolve problems and coordinate services.
- Coordinates an inventory management system to effectively control and distribute supplies and equipment.
- Processes payroll actions in a state agency or the Division of Finance.
- Prepares and defends budget recommendations, requests, reports, proposals and/or projections.

- The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will understand.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Managing one's own time and the time of others.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
