Lead Engineer

Who will you be working with?

The Lead Engineer – Engine in the Engine Life Cycle Cost (LCC) organization will identify and execute maintenance cost reduction projects for the Global Services Organization (GSO).

In this role you will influence cross-functional teams, lead innovative loco maintenance cost projects, and be accountable for the short and long-term results of a multi-million dollar project portfolio.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
• Minimum of 3 years working with diesel engine manufacturing or at least 1 year experience with WABTEC's Operation and Technology division
• Strong understanding of supply chain and shop operations
• Willingness to travel 20% of the time, both domestic and internationally.

What will your typical day look like?

Essential Responsibilities

• Support projects through the scoping, active, and cut-in phases to successful project implementation regarding, but not limited to:
• Fuel System Components
• Cooling System Components
• Lubrication and Water Pump Components
• Support a cross-functional team from Services, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Risk, and external suppliers to meet all project execution milestones (Such as; tollgates, design reviews, and part creation) ahead of schedule
• Drive internal execution of detailed project plans to meet large project targets
• Facilitate communication within the team, as needed, to achieve milestones and professionally manage communications with internal / external project stakeholders
• Identify risks to project execution, schedule, or valuation and facilitate the mitigation of those risks with the appropriate team
• Continually develop a network of resources in support of project execution
• Identify opportunities to expand the project in ways that bring value to our customer and satisfy our profitability requirements
• Manage the project budget and timeline, to ensure the resources are available to complete the project within budget, and on time, to meet customer obligations
• Professionally represent Wabtec during all customer and supplier interactions

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between

$60,700.00-$83,400.00

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
