Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Preparation Worker to join our culinary team. In this role, you will assist in meal preparation and ensure that all food safety standards are met. You will work closely with the dietary department to help create nutritious and appealing meals for our clients. This position is essential in maintaining the quality and efficiency of our food service operations.

Duties

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
  • Assist in cooking and assembling meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, mixers, and ovens safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely meal service and presentation.
  • Help with inventory management by tracking supplies and reporting shortages to supervisors.
  • Support catering events by preparing food items as needed.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a culinary or food service environment is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and dietary guidelines is a plus.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices is essential for maintaining a safe kitchen environment.
  • Experience working in a dietary aide or catering role will be beneficial.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately are necessary for success in this position.
