Position Function:

The Interior Designer is responsible for assisting the Sales and Design Team in the planning, designing, and furnishing of multiple simultaneous commercial interior design projects. Haworth Experience Preferred. Will coordinate projects at varying stages of planning and implementation and formulates design that is practical, aesthetic, ergonomic and conducive to its intended purpose. Collaborates with the customer to develop a needs assessment, determine the scope of work and create accurate renderings and specifications resulting in creative, cost effective design solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and utilize internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures in support of the Design function, and for activities related to determining customer preference, project scope and budget allocation
  • Virtually attend product training to maintain up-to-date knowledge and enhance industry expertise
  • Communicate and document product information, updates, new applications and techniques to the Design team for use in future projects
  • Inform Sales, Operations Planning Team and appropriate Project Manager of additions, deletions, substitutions impacting current design/installation.
  • Document causes of process inefficiencies to improve accuracy
  • Confer with Sales Team and Customer to discuss design scope and determine related factors affecting planning the interior environment including budget, aesthetic preference, purpose and function
  • Prepare and participate in the 'new business' process during Team's formal presentation of the project bid to the customer
  • Advise client on interior design factors such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings or equipment and color coordination
  • Provide thorough installation drawings.
  • Respond to all requests for information promptly

Mandatories:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD & Configura CET Designer
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office. i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes and universal design concepts (ADA)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, outside vendors, and internal staff
  • Confident, self-starter who can work well with minimum supervision and strong attention to detail in composing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, scheduling and meeting deadlines
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Must be flexible in handling multiple tasks of a different nature and have the ability to prioritize efficiently, while being a problem solver who is quick to figure solutions and make things happen.
