Job Title: ESS Instructional Assistant

Reports to: Principal

Location: Crismon Campus - Queen Creek, AZ

Position Type: Part-Time, Hourly

Length of Contract: 10 Months

Job Description

Benjamin Franklin Charter School is looking for an ESS Instructional Assistant to join our Crismon Elementary Team to support our ESS Resource Classrooms.

  • Candidates will be provided on the job training.

Responsibilities
  • Support BFCS Vision, Mission, and Goals.
  • Promote and adhere to BFCS policies and procedures.
  • Provide a safe, structured environment focused on academic excellence.
  • Instruct and assist, within close proximity to the teacher and health assistant, individual students or small groups of students to reinforce material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
  • Implement, under the direction of the supervising certified teacher, behavioral plans developed by a team consisting of parent and school personnel for the purpose of assisting students in modifying behaviors that are in conflict with a positive academic and social environment.
  • Assist in educational demonstrations for the class or small group.
  • Assist with assessments, grading papers, and completing records under the supervision of the certified teacher.
  • Assist with the supervision of students during Specials, emergency drills, assemblies, recess, lunch periods, and field trips.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of protected students' information.
  • Be flexible and perform other duties related to general job function as assigned by the supervising teacher.
  • Participate in meetings and trainings as required for the purpose of sharing information and improving knowledge and skills beneficial to assisting in the classroom.
  • Meet any additional specific job requirements as indicated by the school site or District.

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Will be required to pass a criminal background check upon hire
