HSHS St. Mary's Hospital is seeking a Histology Technician to play a critical role on the laboratory team. By assisting the pathologist in preparation of frozen section slides fine needle aspirations needle biopsies and the examination of tissue specimens the Histology Technician supports the delivery of high-quality patient care in identifying illnesses diseases and other conditions.Position Specifics:
• Department: Lab
• Core Function: Laboratory
• Schedule: Full Time, 40 hours per week, Day shift
• Facility: St. Mary's Hospital
• Location: Green Bay, WI
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate's degree with strong science emphasis and one year histopathology experience, or completion of National Accreditation Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) accredited histotechnology program or high school education with two years histopathology experience preferred.
Experience Qualifications
- Experience preferred, but not required.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations
- Certification with either the Board of Registry of American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS)or eligibility. Required to become registered within one year of accepting position.
