Summary
The Project Engineer is responsible for onsite representation, project management, and field technical delivery of project scope. This role is generally a field position in which there is frequent client interaction. Travel will be required for this role.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Client facing role as the project engineer for complex, single, and multi-discipline projects, ensuring the timely and successful execution of the engineering scope.
- Manage construction processes such as Requests for Information (RFIs), Drawing Lists, Submittals, Meeting Minutes, and possibly site specific or client required processes.
- Assists in the development of proposals and project documentation.
- Monitors and tracks the progress of scope and budgets, proactively communicating any necessary adjustments or changes to the Project Manager, with regular status updates.
- Provides client coordination with the design team, ensuring high standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance with applicable specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Reviews and assess the work of the project design team, providing feedback and ensuring alignment with project goals and best practices.
- Attends and actively participates in weekly project scheduling meetings, ensuring proper planning, resource allocation, and that milestones are achieved on time.
- Fosters and maintains strong relationships with existing clients, identifying opportunities to expand business and develop long-term partnerships.
- Takes an active role in business development efforts, including identifying and cultivating new client relationships to support growth and diversification of the company's project portfolio.
- Provides input and recommendations on unusual or complex issues, ensuring the best possible outcomes for both the client and the company.
- Oversees and guides the work of co-workers when performing field measurements, ensuring accurate data collection and timely resolution of issues that arise in the field.
- Collaborates with code officials and other design professionals to navigate building code interpretations, exceptions, and solutions to ensure regulatory compliance on complex projects.
- Mentors and supports the development of design staff, offering guidance on technical challenges and acting as a resource for design-related questions and best practices.
- Ensures a well-organized and efficient work environment, maintaining easily accessible project information to support team collaboration and project success.
- Assists in the overall project delivery process, providing support wherever needed to maintain project momentum and meet the client's needs.
- Fosters contractor-engineering team relationships. Acts as a liaison for the REW project manager and client site personnel / site GC.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management or related field or work experience.
- Must have 5-10 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of construction sequencing and administration.
- General understanding of services performed by architects and engineers of all disciplines.
- Proficient in the PC/windows environment with experience in e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.

Pay: $96, $134,000.00 per year
