Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health counseling and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality care to individuals and families. This role involves working with diverse populations, including children, adults, and those with developmental disabilities. The counselor will utilize various therapeutic techniques to support clients in achieving their mental health goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and intake evaluations for new clients.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Psychodynamic Therapy.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each client.
  • Offer crisis intervention services and manage acute situations effectively.
  • Facilitate family counseling sessions to enhance communication and resolve conflicts.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation, including ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Engage in clinical research and data collection to contribute to ongoing program development.
  • Provide support for clients dealing with PTSD, addiction, grief, chronic pain, and other mental health challenges.
  • Utilize telehealth platforms for remote counseling sessions as needed.

Experience

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A valid license as a Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent in the relevant state.
  • Experience in psychotherapy, particularly with children and families.
  • Familiarity with crisis management techniques and behavioral therapy approaches.
  • Background in working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or geriatrics is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, patient assessment procedures, and case management practices.
  • Experience in clinical settings such as outpatient clinics or hospitals is preferred.
  • Proficiency in art therapy or dance therapy is a plus.
