". You will be responsible for managing the Company's exposure to risk on claims for the domestic logistics group by ensuring all claims are thoroughly examined and investigated to minimize financial loss while ensuring the Company's, local, state and federal regulations are met.

Essential Functions:

  • Assess liability to apportion damages based on percentage of negligence for negotiating settlements with claimants, attorneys and insurance companies.
  • Ensure compliance with Carmack Amendment, IATA and COGSA.
  • Develop and recommend and initiate prevention policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and monitor case files daily to determine if reserves are set accurately, adjusting within your authority limits as needed.
  • Provide weekly reporting to management.
  • Manage the first line communication and follow up correspondence /communication with claimants, insurance companies and attorneys regarding claims.
  • Assess liability and process subrogation with our partners and settlements with our claimants.
  • Ensure quality management of claims in accordance with best practices.
  • Develop and implement strategic metrics to assess performance of claims program.
  • Initiate and deploy Root Cause and Corrective Action as necessary.
  • Complete Contract Reviews with Director of Safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of experience reviewing, investigating, and resolving claims
  • Ability to connect with and coordinate between internal/external stakeholders.
  • Strong oral, written communications and presentation skills.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint applications.
  • Exemplary communication skills both oral and written.
  • Consistently meets deadlines.
  • Thrives under pressure.
