Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the overall accounting functions. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and excellent communication skills to ensure timely and accurate processing of receivables. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic financial services environment, contributing to the company's financial health and customer satisfaction. Must be in person, no remote positions.

Duties

  • Process and record customer payments using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft
  • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure accuracy of transactions
  • Manage accounts payable and perform regular account analysis for discrepancies
  • Conduct data entry related to invoices, payments, and adjustments with high accuracy
  • Follow up with customers regarding overdue accounts through professional negotiation and phone etiquette
  • Prepare detailed reports on account status and aging analysis for management review
  • Assist with month-end closing activities related to receivables
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries promptly and professionally
  • Support bookkeeping activities related to financial record keeping and audit preparation

Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft
  • Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and account reconciliation processes
  • Excellent data entry skills with high attention to detail
  • Analytical skills for account analysis and problem-solving
  • Effective negotiation skills for collections and customer communication
  • Strong math skills for financial calculations and analysis
  • Good phone etiquette and customer service skills to handle client inquiries professionally
  • Experience with bookkeeping and general accounting principles is preferred
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour
