Overview

The Senior Accountant oversees and manages accounting activities related to the companys and its associated companies, fuel and lubricants sales and distribution operations, and services industry. This position ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with industry and tax regulations.

The core responsibilities and duties associated with this position include, but not limited to, the following:

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
  • Daily support to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Collections
  • Have a general understanding of Cost Accounting

Inventory

  • Have a general understanding of inventory, from purchasing, receiving, selling, and reconciling

Financial Analysis and Support

  • Support management with monthly P&L analysis.
  • Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Recommend process improvements and implement accounting controls.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency with accounting systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities.
  • Excellent leadership and communications abilities.
  • Self-Motivated
  • Able to think outside of the box and streamline processes

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 4 6 years of accounting experience, preferably in fuel, energy, inventory, or distribution industries.
