Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care and support clinical operations across various medical settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and specialized departments such as dermatology, emergency medicine, and hospital medicine. Your expertise will ensure smooth clinic workflows, accurate documentation, and high-quality patient service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in diverse medical environments, including Level I and Level II trauma centers, PICU, and surgical units, contributing to comprehensive patient care delivery.

Duties

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
  • Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort.
  • Support clinical procedures such as medication administration, X-ray imaging, and basic life support during emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR systems), documenting patient interactions, ICD coding for diagnoses, and treatment plans with precision.
  • Conduct basic physiology and anatomy assessments to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Manage medical supplies inventory, sterilization processes, and ensure compliance with safety protocols in outpatient or inpatient settings.
  • Provide exemplary patient service by addressing questions, coordinating appointments, and facilitating smooth clinic operations across specialties like geriatrics, internal medicine, or medical-surgical units.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in high-acuity environments such as emergency rooms or trauma centers to deliver prompt and effective care.
  • Support hospital staff with tasks like specimen collection for laboratory testing or assisting during surgical procedures in the OR.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited program is required.
  • Proven experience working in dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine or related specialties is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding standards and medication administration protocols.
  • Experience working with EHR systems in outpatient or inpatient environments; familiarity with hospital experience including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform clinical duties such as vital sign measurement, intake processing, X-ray assistance, and basic life support certification is essential.
  • Prior experience in emergency medicine settings or PICU is a plus; familiarity with Geriatrics or medical-surgical units is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service; ability to work effectively within fast-paced hospital or clinic environments.

Pay: $ $25.00 per hour
