Job Title: CADD Technician / Digital Construction Manager

Reports To: Project Manager or Construction Engineer

Location: Wichita, KS with some travel required

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Overview:

The CADD Technician supports civil construction projects by developing accurate 2D and 3D digital models using Trimble Business Center and related CADD software. This role plays a key part in ensuring design accuracy, construction efficiency, and seamless coordination between engineering and field operations. The CADD Technician works collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and field staff to translate design concepts into practical and precise deliverables that support all phases of project execution.

Essential Duties:

· Develop detailed 2D and 3D models for civil construction projects using primarily Trimble Business Center and related CADD tools.

· Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field teams to ensure models align with project requirements and specifications.

· Assist in the setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of surveying and layout equipment on construction sites.

· Interpret engineering and construction plans, ensuring that digital models accurately reflect design intent and field conditions.

· Organize, maintain, and manage digital project files and documentation.

· Support both office and field personnel with technical data management, file conversion, and troubleshooting needs.

· Process and integrate drone-captured or survey-based topographic data into CADD models and design workflows.

· Contribute to continuous improvement of CADD and modeling processes to enhance project efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

· Proficiency in Trimble Business Center (TBC) or comparable CADD software platforms.

· Familiarity with drone mapping, photogrammetry, or topographic data collection preferred.

· Ability to read, interpret, and model from civil construction plans and specifications.

· Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

· Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

· Field experience in surveying, grading, or civil construction preferred.

· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other related digital tools.

Working Conditions:

· Primarily office-based with periodic travel to construction sites for coordination and data collection.

· Exposure to outdoor environments, construction equipment, and varying weather conditions when on site.

· Occasional extended hours or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while using a computer or working in the field.

· Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds.

· Occasional bending, kneeling, and walking across uneven terrain on job sites.

· Ability to work in both office and outdoor environments, including exposure to variable weather conditions.

· Visual acuity sufficient for reading plans, operating computer screens, and conducting site inspections.
