As part of our Manufacturing team, you'll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles we're known for. In our plants around the world, we're constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. You'll get the satisfaction of making great products people use and love.

In this position...
You will be a key leader on the front lines of Ford's manufacturing operations. This isn't a desk job; you will be a hands-on coach, mentor, and problem-solver on the plant floor. Your mission is to empower a team of dedicated production professionals, driving a culture of excellence in safety, quality, and continuous improvement. By mastering the Ford Production System, you will ensure your team runs smoothly, solves problems effectively, and builds the world-class vehicles that define our brand.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do....
Lead, Coach, and Develop Your Team
- Mentor and develop your team to achieve daily objectives across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Maintenance, and Environment (SQDCPME).
- Foster a high-performance culture by providing constructive feedback, recognizing achievements, and ensuring every team member feels respected and valued.
- Create a proactive and collaborative work environment where your team is motivated, engaged, and empowered to take ownership of their work.
Drive Continuous Improvement
- Champion the Ford Production System (FPS) on the floor, teaching its principles and facilitating its use to solve complex problems.
- Identify process abnormalities and guide your team through root cause analysis to implement permanent corrective actions, preventing issues from recurring.
- Lead Kaizen events and other continuous improvement activities to systematically enhance area performance, efficiency, and quality.
Uphold and Improve Production Standards
- Spend your time on the floor confirming that standardized work is being followed, ensuring consistency and quality in every part produced.
- Collaborate with your team to refine and improve existing standards as the manufacturing system evolves, making our processes safer and more efficient.
- Plan and coordinate work plans for downtime, model changeovers, and maintenance, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruption to production.
Ensure Operational Excellence
- Manage daily administrative tasks, maintain accurate time and data records, and communicate effectively across all levels of plant management.
- Partner with maintenance teams to plan and execute Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities, improving equipment reliability and performance.
Qualifications
You'll have...
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: Proven experience leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
- Union Partnership: Experience working collaboratively and effectively within a unionized workforce.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and motivate a diverse team, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to team members and plant management.
- Resilience: The ability to thrive under pressure, manage competing priorities, and lead effectively during periods of crisis management.
Even Better, You'll Have...
- Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Lead Process Coach or in a similar senior supervisory role.
- Certifications: A Lean Six Sigma designation (Green Belt or higher) is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply
As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder…or all the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:
- Immediate medical, dental, and prescription drug coverage
- Flexible family care, parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up childcare and more
- Family building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments, and more
- Vehicle discount program for employees and family members, and management leases
- Tuition assistance
- Established and active employee resource groups
- Paid time off for individual and team community service
- A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year's Day
- Paid time off and the option to purchase additional vacation time.
