A Data Analyst interprets data and turns it into information that can offer ways to improve a business, thus affecting business decisions. Data Analysts gather information from various sources and interpret patterns and trends, and report findings to the wider business and relevant colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate to design and develop schemas, data acquisition, transformations, and data integration.
  • Develop and utilize software to interface big data and relational solutions.
  • Design and implement solutions for metadata, data quality, and privacy management.
  • Support and consult with the development staff.
  • Collect and interpret data.
  • Analyze results.
  • Report findings back to relevant business members.
  • Identify patterns and trends in data sets.
  • Work alongside business or management teams to establish business needs.
  • Define new data collection and analysis processes.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree or related work experience.
  • Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into non?technical, lay terms.
  • High?level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large?scale databases.
  • Demonstrated experience handling large data sets and relational databases.
