Job Overview

We are seeking a detailed-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be resonsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate claim submissions, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This role is vital in ensuring timely reimbursements and maintaining positive relationships with our patients and insurance providers.

Duties

  • Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies using appropriate coding systems including CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10.
  • Review patient records for accuracy and completeness prior to billing.
  • Utilize EMR and EHR systems to manage patient information and billing records effectively.
  • Conduct medical collections by following up on unpaid claims and resolving discrepancies with insurance providers.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing regulations and coding practices to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any issues related to billing or coding discrepancies.
  • Prepare reports on billing activities, collections, and outstanding claims for management review.
  • Complete preauthorizations as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or a related field is essential.
  • Familiarity with EMR and EHR systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and insurance representatives.
  • Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of medical records management practices is beneficial.
