We have a Project Civil Engineer position available in our Lawrence, KS office. This career opportunity is not remote, so you must be willing to drive to/from Lawrence, KS Monday through Friday. We hope to find an early to mid-career engineer who is motivated to build a long-term career and contribute meaningfully to our team.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Providing support on the design of residential and commercial development projects
  • Participate in the preparation of construction drawings
  • Continue his/her education process by continuing to develop appropriate professional skills and expertise

The ideal applicant will possess the following qualities and skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A working knowledge of Autodesk
    Civil 3D
  • A working knowledge of basic civil engineering principles
  • Experience with site development design and preparation of construction drawings
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations regarding design
  • Experience working with local and state agencies in plan review and approval
  • Experience working with city and county permit and plat review process
  • Experience with storm water drainage design and analysis
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and hydrologic principles
  • Have the drive and ability to see a project through to its completion
  • Must also be willing to learn, be detailed oriented, and have good interpersonal skills
  • Experience with project management is a plus
  • Required: Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited college
  • Required: Kansas Professional Engineering license or the ability to become licensed within 3 months after hiring
  • Five or more years' experience a plus
  • Land Development: 3+ years
  • Civil 3D: 1 year
  • Drainage Study: 5 years
  • Drainage Design: 5 years
  • Waterline Design: 5 years
  • Sanitary Design: 5 years
  • Road Design: 5 years
