We are currently seeking a Lawn Care Technician to join our team—someone who is passionate about delivering top-quality, customer-focused lawn care services. As a Lawn Care Technician, you will be the face of Lawn Doctor, directly interacting with our customers to ensure their lawns are lush, green, and healthy.

Your Role

Our Lawn Care Technicians are customer-facing brand ambassadors. They treat lawns with top-quality, environmentally sensitive products, aerate and seed lawns, perform shop work, and offer appropriate new services to customers and prospects while in the field.

At Lawn Doctor, our technicians use patented machinery to make product applications, which means less pulling hoses and pushing spreaders, resulting in significantly less physical stress and walking. You'll work independently, ensuring each customer's lawn is treated with care and precision, while also identifying opportunities to enhance their service experience.

Your role also includes interacting with customers by engaging them at the point of service regarding additional services their lawn may require. Additionally, you'll assist with marketing efforts by posting lawn signs or hanging flyers on door handles in the neighborhoods you are servicing, helping to grow our presence and customer base.

Important Note

This position focuses on lawn treatment and care services and does not require any lawn cutting or landscaping.

Lawn Doctor of Elgin, Bartlett, & Carpentersville is a small, locally owned franchise that is growing quickly. This means there is plenty of potential for advancement as we continue to expand.

Your Responsibilities

• Apply top-quality, environmentally friendly products to lawns using our patented machinery.
• Aerate and seed lawns to promote healthy growth.
• Perform maintenance and shop work as needed.
• Introduce and upsell additional services to customers and prospects during field visits.
• Engage with customers at the point of service to discuss additional lawn care needs.
• Post lawn signs or distribute flyers in the neighborhoods you are servicing.

Winter Transition – Holiday Lighting Heroes

In the winter, our Lawn Care Technicians transition to our Holiday Lighting Heroes product line. This involves installing and maintaining festive holiday lighting for residential and commercial properties, bringing joy and holiday spirit to our community.

What We're Looking For

• A strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Reliable transportation to work.
• Consistent attendance record.

Desirable but Not Required

• Prior experience in the lawn care industry.
• Mechanical interest and/or aptitude.

Must-Have Skills

• Attention to detail
• Ability to learn quickly
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Enthusiasm for working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to operate machinery.
• Commitment to meeting production goals.
• Physical capability to lift more than 50 pounds, as bags of fertilizer typically weigh 50 pounds.

Work Schedule

• We do not work on most major holidays, so you'll have those days off.
• If we cannot service due to weather, you may be scheduled for another day that week instead.
