Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing exceptional patient care and support to our dental team. This role involves assisting with various dental procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring that the practice runs smoothly. A strong understanding of dental terminology and familiarity with EMR systems is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Take X-rays and perform medical imaging as required, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records, including medical coding and documentation in EMR systems such as Open Dental.
  • Monitor vital signs and ensure patient comfort throughout their visit.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Collaborate with the dental receptionist to manage appointments and patient flow efficiently.
  • Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry practices.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Epic, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques, infection control practices, and medical terminology is essential.
