SENIOR RF ENGINEER

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead a team responsible for developing and measuring custom antenna patterns for FM applications. This role involves evaluating, selecting, and proposing solutions tailored to specific customer needs. Additionally, the Manager will oversee the preparation of final performance proofs for submission to the FCC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Management: Direct and manage the daily operations of the test site team, including the creation, assembly, and measurement of physical and computational models for FM antenna patterns.
  • Performance Verification: Prepare detailed reports to confirm that antenna patterns meet FCC regulatory standards for each application.
  • Test Procedure Development: Write, approve, and optimize test procedures, and ensure that engineering and production staff are properly trained on lab and production testing protocols.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Engineering, and customers to gather requirements and develop solutions for FM antenna radiation patterns.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Design, Engineering) and external customers to review project specifications, ensure alignment with timelines, and maintain quality standards.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong familiarity with test equipment, including proper usage, care, and function.
  • Ability to interpret tower construction and orientation drawings.
  • Advanced proficiency in PC-based software, including integrated test and measurement programs, word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and CAD tools.
  • Experience with software tools such as NEC-4, NEC-5, or HFSS for modeling antenna radiation patterns.
  • Solid understanding of FCC regulations related to broadcast operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as VB-6, C++, MATLAB, or Python to support troubleshooting and maintenance of test software and systems.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • The position involves a combination of office and on-site test facility work.
  • Occasional travel may be required for business-related purposes.

Education & Experience:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field.
  • Preferred: 10+ years of relevant experience in RF engineering or antenna design/testing.
  • Additional: EIT (Engineer-in-Training) or P.E. (Professional Engineer) certification is preferred.

Pay: $78, $90,000.00 per year
